Arrest in Animal Cruelty Case

 

 

The Quincy Police Department announces the arrest of Angela Geary, owner of Little Friends Pet Lodge/Rest Your Paws Refuge, on charges of animal cruelty. This arrest follows an extensive investigation into allegations of mistreatment and neglect at the pet lodging facility.

On March 9, 2024, officers were called to Little Friends Pet Lodge/Rest Your Paws Refuge by workers at the facility who complained about how the animals were being treated.

Upon entering the premises, officers discovered several animals in distress, displaying signs of neglect, malnourishment, and poor living conditions. Immediate action was taken to rescue the animals and provide them with necessary medical attention.

Angela Geary, 62, has been charged with 51 counts of animal cruelty under Florida Statute 812.013(2)(a) and 51 counts of animal cruelty under Florida Statute 812.013(2)(b). She was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Quincy Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as more evidence is gathered.
